It must be observed that this is the first race this year where runners were mobbed by the local wildlife......that's right, ladybirds EVERYWHERE! Beautiful little creatures but not ideal to have them chilling out on your run vest: especially when we all know red and orange are not ideal together!
Anyway, this is the penultimate race of the league and with Worthing Striders currently in first for 'Club Improvement' it was a big day with us needing a higher score than last years 16.
Advance Strider entries were a 'famous 5' but the final starter group was another 'divine 9', great to see three of our newer runners joining us too. Keith Bolton made it a family affair with a father and son combo doing very well: we've tried to poach Nick from his current club!
Big shout out to Pete Jenkins who in a bid to get the big points had a rather unfortunate meeting with the ground and is sporting some minor war wounds.
Well done to our runners today, you did great.
Results will be available on the WSFRL website.
The final run in the 2016 league diary is Sunday 6 November for the Gunpowder Trot which is a brand new course from Horsham Joggers and advance entries will be submitted on Wednesday 2 November.
