Annual General Meeting
At 7.30pm on Thursday 15th September at the John Selden pub, Worthing Striders will hold its Annual General Meeting.
The Committee hope that as many of you as possible will be able to attend, as there are a number of points that need to be gone through, and it is important that you are there to hear and comment on these. There will be a small number of new members to the Committee, as there have been some recent members stepping down, along with the annual awards to be handed out.
Documentation for the AGM (agenda, awards nominations and committee role profiles) is below.
Awards
Additional nominations can be made by emailing the Club Secretary (Andrew.Saych@sky.com). Also note that for the final 2 awards (Club person of the year Male and Female) there is no suggested list - just vote for who you think is the best person. All votes must be emailed to Andy by 9th September in order to allow trophies to be engraved in time!
Committee roles
The role profile document gives a flavour of some of the key roles of the club. If anyone is interested in getting more involved in the running of the club and would like to either find out more about or to stand for any of the committee roles please contact Andy on Andrew.Saych@sky.com, again by 9th September.
Membership subscriptions structure vote
The document outlines the subscription options that members will be asked to vote on. Please read carefully and ensure that if you are not able to attend the AGM that you register your vote with Andy via email on Andrew.Saych@sky.com ahead or notify Andy that your vote will be registered via your nominated proxy as per the constitution statement:
"Any paid up member unable to attend the AGM or Special general meeting can vote by proxy on all matters set out in the Agenda duly published.
This Proxy vote shall be with the Hon. Secretary by the commencement of the meeting. The Hon. Secretary must receive the name of the proxy –
which for clarity can be a member of the Committee -and the voting intentions clearly set out in writing or electronic form. All votes properly received and clearly stating the member’s wishes shall be counted in in any vote."
If you are unable to attend, please can you also e-mail Andy so that your apologies can be recorded.
The Committee expect that the meeting would last about an hour. Please note that members are welcome to eat at the pub either before or after the meeting, but are kindly asked not to order food to be served in the AGM in order to avoid the many disruptions from meal service that can arise.
Kind regards
The Committee
